MEET CHARLOTTE

Hello!  Let's get acquainted...

A bit about me... I hold a Bachelor's degreemagna cum laude, in Languages and Linguistics from Georgetown University and a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in Los Angeles. I am a licensed psychotherapist, California Marriage and Family Therapist license #46587. I have been in private practice for over 15 years.

I am a Board Certified Professional Counselor with the American Psychotherapy Association, a Certified Bereavement Counselor, and an active member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. My clinical training includes leading support groups for people with cancer and their loved ones at Cancer Support Community, facilitating grief and loss support groups, providing psychosocial support to the severely mentally ill and to people in crisis at Del Amo Hospital  For the past 15 years I have focussed on working with individuals in a private practice setting.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in the office products industry and rose up the corporate ladder to become a Vice President at Office Depot. During that time, I also served as the unofficial, "in-house counselor" for many and I realized that that's where my true joy resides. During my years in business, I helped to develop several coaching programs and I successfully mentored many people to achieve greater personal and professional fulfillment in the U.S., Europe, and Australia. After nearly 20 years in business, I decided to focus my energies on working more closely with people as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

Having made a few life transitions myself, I specialize in helping people navigate life's inevitable changes, whether chosen or not!  I also draw from personal experience as a woman who has succcessfully navigated career change, a breast cancer survivor, a caregiver to an ailing loved one, and my own experiences with grief and loss. I consider myself deeply spiritual. That said, I do not profess to have all the answers and I certainly respect whatever your beliefs (or not) might be.  My clientele is very diverse and I enjoy working with and learning from people of different cultures, BIPOC, LGBTQ, binary and non-binary.

I currently divide my time between Redondo Beach and my native Minnesota. I speak decent French and Spanish and a little Italian. I love to travel: I visited all seven continents and plan to see more of the world while I can!  My other passions include golf, the outdoors, music, photography, reading, cooking, and wine tasting. I have been been happily married for 25 years and really cherish my relationship. And, it takes work.  Happiness - whether personal or in the context of a relationship - is a daily choice.  I'd love to help you create a happier, passionate and more fulfilling life!
